Visitors to the 11th edition of CleantexPulire in South Africa will have the chance to learn from Paul Wonnacott, Managing Director and President of Vectair Systems, who will present a 30 minute seminar on Tuesday 13th June at 10:45am – 11:15am, to discuss the evolution of fragrance.
British-born Paul founded Vectair Systems – a global ‘away from home’ hygiene company that specializes in washroom and aircare systems – in Basingstoke, UK in 1989, and has since gained considerable experience in many of the world’s most important markets.
Paul has also lectured for the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.
He is currently on the advisory board for the ISSA Interclean Exhibition Committee, and has previously served on the board of directors for the Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers’ Association. Paul is also a regular guest blogger for European Cleaning Journal magazine.
CleantexPulire is held every second year at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, and is regarded as Africa’s foremost event for the professional cleaning industry. Its seminar programme encourages not only professional cleaners, but also facility, healthcare, retail, hospitality and food service managers and workers alike, to gain knowledge about the key challenges and legislation affecting the industry through free educational seminars and workshops.
Paul’s seminar will discuss how organisations are using fragrance to create corporate identities and signature scents, and how advances in scent technology are being used to deliver an improved user experience.
Paul says: “Nowadays, fragrance is everywhere. In your soap, your shampoo, your deodorant, your washing-up liquid. The time of small, independent fragrance producers has given way to groups of chemists, specialist marketing teams and highly trained ‘noses’ who can build absolutely any fragrance that an individual desires. Organisations are realising the powerful ability of scent to deeply connect with our emotions. According to branding expert Lindstrom, “Seventy-five percent of the emotions we generate on a daily basis are affected by smell”.
“For the cleaning sector, this has meant a shift away from traditional practices. Historically, organisations would choose to fragrance their washrooms as a solution to mask unpleasant smells. Now, it is common to see a whole network of decision makers wanting to fragrance areas both inside and outside of the washroom, and for different reasons. For it is no longer just about the perception of a clean and fresh washroom, but instead, the whole user ‘experience’.”
CleantexPulire takes place from the 12-14th June 2017 – for more information and to register, visit: //cleantex.co.za/.
