Saving Lives with the Femcare™ Sanitary Disposal Unit Marketing campaign

Vectair have been chosen as finalists for the Femcare™ campaign “Saving Lives with the Femcare™ Sanitary Disposal Unit”, in the category of Integrated Marketing Communications – Customer Education SME. Other companies with campaigns that made it through to the finals include Camelot, 02, The Post Office and Direct Line.

This is a fantastic achievement for the campaign in general and also for the Vectair Marketing team, consisting of Carly Wonnacott, Louise Goldsmith and Matt Wonnacott. The awards ceremony will take place on 14th April 2016.

Paul Wonnacott, Managing Director and President of Vectair Systems, said: “I am a great supporter of our Femcare campaign and the association with The Eve Appeal for both professional and personal reasons. Vectair is proud to support this as our main charity. Looking at the other Marketing Agencies and firms in this Award ceremony, the fact that the team have been shortlisted as a finalist by raising the Eve Appeal profile so high so as to be picked up by the Industry’s leading body is nothing short of remarkable.”

About the Marketing campaign

The idea is all about raising money for The Eve Appeal gynaecological cancer research charity. The Eve Appeal is the UK charity specifically focused in battling the five gynaecological cancers through world-leading research. Sadly, 55 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer each and every day in the UK, and 21 women die.

50p from the sale of every Femcare™ MVP Sanitary Disposal unit in the UK is given by Vectair Systems to The Eve Appeal gynaecological cancer research charity. Every Femcare™ MVP feminine hygiene sanitary waste disposal unit carries The Eve Appeal logo, raising awareness of gynaecological cancers in women’s washrooms across the world.

The idea is, that, on seeing this logo, women are encouraged to think about the signs and symptoms of women’s cancers, and perhaps carry out a self check on their bodies or visit a doctor to make sure anything they are experiencing is normal.

Additionally, Vectair Systems carried out research in the USA. The findings suggest that most women aren’t embarrassed to talk about women’s health or hygiene; those who are fall into the 18-25 age groups. The majority of women however, would be more likely to check themselves and visit a doctor if they were reminded in a public washroom.
